After the recent launche of the final version of Firefox 3 and the availability of Internet Explorer 8 beta 2, is Google reacting or is it just a coicidence that the master of the web is also launching its long awaited Chrome.
Chrome is the new player in the navigation war between Microsoft and the rest of the world. Rising fears about Internet Explorer 8’s lach of performance and ability to block AdSense ads (some websites live thanks to them) may have pushed Google to speed up the launch but I do not believe it is a short term move.
As a matter of fact, google controls many aspects of the web and it couldn’t neglect such a vital aspect as navigation. I also believe that the partnership with mozilla to promote and impose firefox was the first step in trying to get things out of Microsoft’s hands, and one has to admit they were quite succesfull in the endevour. Now google is moving to the next level with its own navigator chrome.
I have not tested the soft yet, but I doubt google has done things the wrong way, they know how costly that can be and are fans of long betas (remember gmail) to avoid just that. I will certainly post again once I get to test it properly.
