Because of the increased popularity of new social networking sites such as facebook, bebo, and twitter, the older, once more popular MySpace has lost a lot of its thunder. Many people have even wanted to completely remove their MySpace accounts. If you are one of these people, MySpace offers a quick and simple way to achieve this goal.

A couple things you should know before you delete your account:

  • If you delete your account, there is no going back. MySpace will not save any of the files, pictures, or anything else that is saved on your MySpace. It is your responsibility to remove this content or back it up before you delete your account.
  • Before you delete your account, recognize that your account may have some value in the form of $$$. If your account has a high number of friends (Probably in the thousands) you may be able to sell it on ebay or other auction sites.

Now that we have that out of the way, to delete your account, your first need to log in. After logging in, navigate to the “settings” section of your account. Then all you have to do is hit the “Cancel Account” link towards the bottom of the page and your done!
