A couple of weeks ago facebook installed a new feature called Facebook Chat. This feature can be found in the bottom right corner. Personally, I think the tool is pretty useful. I know that there are plenty of instant messaging services out there already like AIM and Gtalk, but I think that this new tool pretty much brings together facebook as a whole. Everything you need to be social with your friends is now contained in one place! With this tool I believe facebook will no longer have any serious competition.

Anyway… some people dont like this feature and want to know how to get people to stop nagging them whenever they are on facebook. Im going to show you how!

First Lets Walk through Facebook Chat

1.) Click Here to bring up a list of your friends online

2.) Click here to bring up any new notifications you may have

3.) Click here to bring up facebook chat options.

Alright, now to get people to stop talking to you, all you have to do is click #3, which will bring up a little menu. On this menu, flick “Go Offline”. This will make it so people do not know you are online and therefor can not message you.
